Lloy Jane Bennett Sessions
November 27, 1933 ~ September 30, 2017
Lloy Jane Bennett Sessions, age 83, of Vernal, passed away September 30, 2017 at the Naples BeeHive Home surrounded by all her children. Lloy was born November 27, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Buell S. and Ida Briggs Bennett. She grew up on a ranch in Manila, Utah until the 5th grade when her family moved to Vernal. Lloy continued her education in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1952. She attended B.Y.U. in Provo for a short time before returning to Vernal. In March of 1953, Lloy met and dated Barney Sessions. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 16, 1953. They lived for two years in Idaho and one year in Salt Lake City before returning to Vernal to make their home. They were blessed with a family of five sons and one daughter. They lost their second son, Drell, shortly after his birth. Lloy was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served in many church positions. She and Barney also served a two year Stake Mission. Lloy worked many years for the Uintah County Treasurers Office before retiring. Lloy enjoyed cooking, crocheting, scrapbooking and serving her family, friends and extended family. Some of her most cherished times were when she was with her family at the cabin on the mountain. Lloy is survived by her children Lynn (Nancy) Sessions of Orem, Utah; Randy (Cherie') Sessions of Pleasant View, Utah; Lawona (Rob) Harrop of Vernal; David Sessions of Vernal; Glade (Jennifer) Sessions of Roosevelt, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister Clifta (Scott) Mikel of Vancouver, Washington; sisters-in-law, Eula (Duane) Price, Centerville, Utah, Doris (Dean) Sessions, St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buell S. and Ida Briggs Bennett; husband, Barney Burl Sessions; son, Drell B. Sessions; brother Buell Lynn Bennett; sister-in-law, LaRue Watkins; brothers-in-law, Dean Sessions and Bruce Watkins; and Granddaughter Shantisha Sessions. We wish to thank the nurses and aides at the Naples BeeHive Home and Canyon Home Care and Hospice for their professional and personal care of our mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 7, 2017 @ 11:00 AM at the Vernal 9th Ward LDS Chapel (250 North 200 West) A viewing will be Friday October 6, 2017 from 6-8 and the Blackburn Mortuary and at the Chapel from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. Services entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
