Alan Duane Rich, age 63 of Vernal, Utah passed away June 16, 2016. Alan was born May 7, 1953 in Vernal to Robert A. Rich and Doris Merkley Goodrich. He married his sweetheart, Glenda Dale McGovern on December 10, 1970. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS temple on July 15, 1988. Together the Lord blessed their lives with 45 years of love and companionship. Their two children, Wesalyn Dale and Coulson Alan were born into this union. Their lives were also blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Alan was an exceptional welder by profession for over 25 years. He mastered computer skills without any formal education. With the skills he attained, he built and managed his own business (CMI). He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he faithfully served in many callings. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and riding his mule with his many friends and family. These were just a few of his many passions; but his greatest of all was his family, and many friends. Alan is preceded in death by his son; Coulson Alan Rich, mother; Doris M. Goodrich, step father; Everett Goodrich, step mother; Cleo S. Rich and brother; Robert H. Rich. He is survived by his wife; Glenda Dale, daughter; Wesalyn Dale, and father; Robert A. Rich, grandchildren; Marysa D. Miner, Jayden A. Thompson, Justyn D. Gardner, Charles C. Rich, and Cordale J. Rich, great grandchildren; Jaxtyn Alan Wayne Sharp and Baylexx Olyn Dale Gardner, sisters; Brenda J. Denmon, Leanne W. Noel, and Katheryn (Kelly) Simmons, brothers; Shayne D. Rich and Jerry C. Rich. He also leaves behind many lifelong friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rockpoint LDS chapel, (2575 North 1500 West). There will be a viewing Monday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
