Alyce Aycock

Alyce Stephenson Aycock, age 95 passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2012 in Vernal, Utah. She was born to Joseph Albert Stephenson and Charolette Ruby Johnson on November 22, 1917 in Duchesne, Utah. She later lived in Roosevelt, Utah and then in Vernal for the last 50 years of her life. She married Kenneth Robert Aycock on February 17, 1944 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1966. Alyce and Ken are the parents of three children; Stephen K. Aycock, Gordon L. Aycock, and Rodney J. Aycock. Ken passed away December 11, 2001. Alyce was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings, including several years with her husband Kenneth in a temple calling in the Vernal Temple. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister and 3 brothers. She is survived by her sons; Stephen (Shirley), Gordon (Ruby), and Rodney (Kristy), 13grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Alyce was an exceptional mother and grandmother. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren. She loved working in her yard and loved flowers; especially her roses. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vernal 9th Ward LDS Chapel (250 North 200 West) with a viewing 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the care and direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
