Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Amy Ainge Sims, passed away at the Uintah Care Center on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born in Vernal to Thomas and Amelia Yeager Ainge on October 25, 1920. She married Virgil Thomas Sims and they had five children. Grandma Amy lived most of her Life in Vernal; she was a wonderful cook, excellent seamstress and gardener. She loved camping and being in the outdoors Amy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her children, David (Ethellynn) Sims of Richfield, Utah; Claud Thomas (Joyce) Sims of Vernal, Utah; Lavon (Max Eugene) Searle of Vernal, Utah; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Thomas Sims; daughter, Bonnie Muirhead Oaks; & son, Merle Muirhead Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Naples LDS Ward Chapel (2313 South 1500 East). Friends and family may call at the Chapel from 9:45-10:45 until times of services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, services are entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com
