Margaret Anne (Huff) Shaw, wife, mother, grandma, and Momo, passed away suddenly on June 26, 2021, at the age of 67. Anne was born on January 1, 1954, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Dale Pepple and Beverly June (Bagwell) Huff.
On February 14, 1986, Anne married Michael Louis Shaw in Kaysville, Utah. She was the loving mother of 3 daughters, Olivia, Mattie, and Mariah and 5 stepchildren, Caprice, Brian, Louis, Jordan, and Robin. She was Grandma to 19 grandchildren who lovingly called her Momo. Anne had a great love for children. She was a strong advocate for many children with special needs as she welcomed them into her home as a foster mother.
Mike and Anne were sealed in the Logan Temple in 1992. Olivia was sealed to them in the Bountiful Temple in 1996 and Mattie and Mariah were sealed to them in 2012 in the Nauvoo Temple.
Anne was a Veteran and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. She served in the Army achieving the rank of SP-4 serving in Vietnam and Germany.
Earlier in life, she served her community as a certified 911 dispatcher. She was a licensed hairdresser and had her own salon for several years in Kaysville, Utah.
While attending college, she was on the Dean’s list and inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was working toward her associate degree in Social Work.
Anne was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Throughout the years, she served in many callings in Relief Society, Sunday school, Primary, Activity Days and Cub Scout den mother.
She loved the outdoors and camping. She enjoyed pausing to swing on her porch-swing enjoying the sun, listening to the birds, and watching the kids play.
She had many talents including sewing, toll painting, crafting and she baked exquisite cakes. She could make any simple house into a cozy home.
She was a sweet, kind, happy and friendly soul. She was full of forgiveness, love, patience, advice, stories, and laughter.
She is survived by Mike, her husband and eternal partner of 35 years; 8 children (5 stepchildren, 3 daughters), Caprice (David) Preston of AZ, Brian (Malena) Shaw of OH, Louis (Rachael) Shaw of UT, Jordan (Amanda) Shaw of WA, Robin (Ariana) Shaw of UT, Olivia Long of UT, Mattie Shaw of UT and Mariah Shaw of UT; 19 grandchildren whom she treasured; 2 sisters, Marti Champion, Melinda Grierson, and 1 brother, Stan Huff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sons and 2 sisters, Theresa Hudson, and Beverly Low.
There will be a public viewing on July 6, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary at 15 East 100 North, Vernal, Utah 84078. Services will be streamed live on www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com for those who are not able to attend.
Graveside services and dedication will be held at the Lehi Cemetery in Lehi, Utah with family and friends on Thursday.
