Barton Arthur Ensley passed away at the Uintah Care Center in Vernal at the age of 87, on June 19, 2012. He was born November 8, 1924 in Cripple Creek, Colorado to Dorothy Scheib Ensley of Cripple Creek and Howard Hutchison Ensley of Pennsylvania. He married Betty Jo Isaacs on December 25, 1948 in El Monte, California. They moved to Georgia in 1952 and to Alabama in 1973. Before moving to Vernal in 2004, they had lived 6 years in Williams, Arizona. Bart worked hard to support his family. He was a machinist by trade but over the years he owned a carpet store and worked as a lumber salesman. But above all he was a misister of Jehovahs Witnesses. He began his public ministry in 1934 and was baptized in 1938. He devoted his entire life to strengthening his Christian brothers and sisters and ministering to their spiritually needs. He helped organize many congregations of Jehovahs Witnesses in different states. His great love was teaching the Bible, both from the platform and one on one. He spoke from the authority of the Bible. He believed in the power of the Bible and he helped many people to apply Bible principles to improve their lives. He will be greatly missed. We would like to express our deep appreciation for the wonderful care Bart received from Good Shepherd Hospice and the Uintah Care Center. Bart is survived by his wife; Betty Ensley of Vernal, daughter; Susan (Harvey) Keller of Vernal, son; Thomas Ensley of Valley, Alabama, granddaughters; Christine (Christopher) Wilson of Salt Lake City, Julie Keller of Anchorage, Alaska, Michelle Gilchrist of Alexander City, Alabama, and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Howard Ensley, daughter; Candice Ensley, and sister; Nova Catlett. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on July 7, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses-232 East 1500 North in Vernal. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
