Betty Jean Smith Kuchler

Betty Jean (Smith) Kuchler, age 77, was born February 16, 1938 in Vernal, Utah to Stella Mae (Atwood) Stocks and Willie Smith. She married Leroy E. Kuchler April27, 1957 in Craig, Colorado. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple October 3, 1972. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Vernal 6th Ward. Betty enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, quilting, and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. She loved going on rides and collecting birds of all kinds. She loved the holidays seasons her favorite was Christmas. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Helen Oaks and Lonnie Kuchler both of Vernal.8 grandchildren, Blake, Amanda, Owen, Jeanie, Keenan, Kyle, Shawn, and Keith; 6 great grandchildren, James, Chance, Jayden, Jraxton, Taylor, and Stormy; sisters, Debbie Cordova, Shelia Swain, Jody Dent, and Judy Abplanalp all of Vernal, Sally Larson of Kaysville, Utah and Billie Smith of Vernal. She is preceded in death by the love of her life for 58 years Leroy E. Kuchler; their precious daughter Stella Jean; her parents, Stella Stocks and Willie Smith; Step-parents Art Boren, Art Stocks and Wilma Smith; and many aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Viewing for her family and friends will be at the Mortuary Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 and Thursday from 9:45 - 10:45 A.M. prior to the service.
