Betty Jean Dimick Blandford Ufford
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed from this life December 6th 2020 surrounded by her most prized possessions, her family.
Betty was born March 17th 1924 in Sunnyside Utah to Frances and Annie Latturner Dimick. She was the third of five children. In her youth, she loved sports and was very athletic. She had many talents and she had a great personality and just loved people making sure they left her feeling like they were of great worth.
She met Bruce Blandford in 1944 in Vallejo, California while he was in the Marines. She was operating a ferry from the dock to the ship. They married and had 7 children. They later divorced and she married Richard Ufford and they spent many years gardening, traveling, and just watching the humming birds. Mom was a hard worker and always had a job to help sustain her family. She worked at Citizens State Bank and St Cloud Hospital in Florida. She moved to Vernal Utah and worked at Zions Bank and she ended her career at the age of 93 working at Downtown Dodge.
Betty was a very devoted mother and always instilled in her children the importance of hard work. Mom always had many sayings, but the one she used the most was “Just get busy”. She loved to read and do word books and she never forgot names and places. She was devoted to her faith and she served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a dedicated temple worker for many years.
