Brenda Walker

Brenda Darlene North Walker, age 47 of Meeker, Colorado passed away at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Meeker on October 5, 2012. She was born in San Bernardino, California on May 12, 1965 to Thomas and Jesse Kathy McFarland North. Her family moved to Meeker in 1967. Brenda attended school in Meeker and after high school she moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she worked at the Venetian Resort. She married and divorced James Walker and then moved to Glenwood Springs where she worked at the Hotel Colorado until she became disabled and moved back home to Meeker. Brenda loved the mountains, fishing, and her faithful dog B.J. She also enjoyed TV game shows. She is survived by her mother Kathy of Meeker, father Tom (Debbie) of Palisade, Colorado, sister Tammie North of Parachute, Colorado, brothers Tom North of Seabeck, Washington, Eric North of Meeker, Steve North of Orlando, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandmother and grandfather, older sister Leona and two nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church in Meeker at 11Th and Garfield. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Mortuary. Donations can be made to the Meeker animal shelter in memory of Brenda.
