Bruce Bertram Satra, age 85 of Vernal passed away September 9, 2015 in Vernal, Utah. He was born Feb 10, 1930 in Seattle, WA to Theodore Ellsworth & Leota Barbara Harrison Satra. After graduation Bruce spent 2 years at a community college in A & E Mechanics; Radio and machinist training in the U. S. Army, From August 25, 1948 to March 22, 1952. He served during the Korean War. He was a radio operator & machinist and earned combat awards. After returning home he married the love of his life, Laura Abplanalp Satra on June 25, 1960 in Seattle, WA Bruce was a Journeyman machinist, with endorsements as a Tool and Die maker/designer, Mold maker, and injection & compression and mold designer and maker. After moving to Vernal his work followed him, sometimes work was brought to him, picking him up by a helicopter landing at his place in Glines. Bruce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings including in an Elders Quarum Presidency, Missionary in Vernal & Seattle, full time geneology Mission in Salt Lake City with his wife Laura, Temple worker in the Vernal Temple. He was a member of the National Rifle Association & made guns for his friends & neighbors. Bruce could make anything involving machinery. Bruce was loved by many friends & neighbors and missed very much his wife Laura since she died in 2007. Funeral services will be Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Glines 1st Ward Chapel at 10:00 AM. Friends and family may call at the Chapel from 9:00-9:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, with Military Honors provided by the American Legion and Utah National Guard. wwwblackburnvernalmortuary.com
