Carol Rae (Rowley) Allen passed away August 17th, 2021, in her Vernal, Utah home. She was surrounded by family and friends- just as she wanted to be. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and more.
Carol was born November 6th, 1941, to Acel Deforest Rowley and Laura Venis (Smuin) Rowley. Carol graduated from Uintah High School- Class of 1960. As a young woman she loved riding her horse “Midge” bareback, and barrel racing. Carol married Larry A. Allen on March 31st 1965. They were blessed with three sons, Dale, Dean, and Ronald (Ron). She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Carol retired as Office Manager for the Uintah County Recorder in 2005 after over twenty years of service. She considered being a grandmother as a highlight of her life, and she loved her grandsons, Mitch, Kyle, and Carter, endlessly.
Carol was truly one of a kind. She was a planner, organizer, and all-around supervisor of everything. Her home was known to many in the community as the daily “five o’clock coffee spot.” Carol and Larry traveled the country in both Larry’s tractor-trailer and in their street rods. Carol was an avid car-show enthusiast. She and Larry attended hundreds of shows over several decades, accompanied by Max and Louise Martin, Clarence and Lilian Hamilton, Brad and Gail Sorensen, Terrie and Rod White, Joe and Amber Gardner, and countless other members of their “car show family.”
Carol is survived by her husband Larry A. Allen, children Dale A. Allen of Vernal, Dean A. Allen (Cheryl) of Kaysville, Ronald R. Allen (Natalie) of Kirkland, Washington, and brothers Delyle Rowley and Dallas Rowley, sisters-in-law Diane Rowley, and Jessie Rowley; and many nieces, nephews, and other family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Acel and Laura Rowley, her brothers, Gary Rowley and Dennis Rowley, and daughter-in-law Denice (Winward) Allen.
Funeral services will be held at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.
