In Loving Memory of Carolene Ruth Nicholes-Munford

Carolene Ruth Nicholes-Munford, passed away peacefully in Vernal, Utah, on April 7th, 2025, at the age of 76. Born October 16th, 1948, to Max Maiben Nicholes and Mary Elizabeth Kane, Carolene/Carol lived a life deeply rooted in her testimony of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the strength of family.

Family was Carol’s greatest joy. She nurtured her loved ones with fresh bread, heartfelt letters, and playful nicknames. Her unwavering support and pride in each of her children and grandchildren created a haven of love and acceptance. Everyone cherished her conversations and felt her genuine care. She honored her parents and siblings deeply, treasuring memories and connections.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ guided her life, evident in her temple attendance, scripture study, and service. Her home was a reflection of her faith and family, filled with pictures and uplifting words. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, from sewing and crocheting to gardening and learning sign language. Her playful spirit and unique sayings brought laughter to those around her.

Carol’s happiness was contagious, and she left an indelible mark of love and joy on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Eugene Munford in 1996. She is survived by her greatest treasures Robin, Zelmarie (Dave), Emily (Robin), Ted (Cristie), James, Florie, Daniel (Sarah), Benjamin (Mandi), and Carrie, 43 Grand-kids, and one Great-grandchild with one on the way.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10 am at the Verna 5th Ward Chapel (250 N 200 W) with viewings held Friday, April 11th from 6-8 PM at the Blackburn Mortuary, and 1 hour prior at the chapel. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
