Carolyn D. McCumber, known to most as Mammam, returned to her Heavenly Father on February 3, 2016. She was born in West Farmington, Ohio on March 15, 1952 to Carroll and Bessie Bennett. She married Vernon (Butch) McCumber on July 31, 1981 in Elko, Nevada. They raised 4 children together and lived in Casper, Wyoming until 1988 when they moved to Vernal, Utah. While living in Vernal, Carolyn took part in Relay for Life and fundraising for Headstart. Her favorite thing to do was to travel to Wendover, Nevada and play the slots, or to Dinosaur, Colorado to buy scratch tickets. And she was very, very lucky. She was not only lucky but a generous person who would help anyone she could. The most important thing that Carolyn's family wants people to know about her is that Mammam was the foundation of their family. She kept everyone in check and everyone could come to her with anything and everything. This was true for her friends as well. She is survived by her husband; Butch, children; Christine Risley, Rock Springs, Wyoming, Cathy "Catt" Smith (Shane), Vernal, Joianne Crow (Phillip), Rock Springs, and Richard McCumber (Vi Ann), Vancouver, Washington, Mother; Bessie Bosley (David), Rock Springs, sister; Lois Ann Priddy, Newton Falls, Ohio, brother; Bobby Bennett, Leavittsburg, Ohio, grandchildren; Justin, Bessanee (Mathew), Jessie (Traci, Ryan, Zackory, Marcos, Colton, Robert, Hayden, and Savannah, great grandchildren; Airrieauna, Zoey, and William. She is preceded in death by her father; Carroll, sister; Cathy, son-in-law; William (Bill) and brother-in-law; Ronald. Services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6-8 at the mortuary and 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to the care of the Vernal Blackburn Mortuary.
