December 9, 1944 ~ July 4, 2014 Catherine Lamb Nielson, age 69, died peacefully on July 4, 2014 at her home in Lapoint, Utah after a brief battle with cancer. Catherine was born on December 9, 1944 in St. George, Utah the daughter of Glendon Osmer and Thelma Brinkerhoff Lamb. Catherine was the 9th of 12 children. Catherine married her sweetheart Clinton Nielson on October 10, 1961 in Lapoint, Utah. They were later married for time and all eternity in the Salt lake Temple. They had six children. Jeff Nielson (Bruce Coleman) of Lapoint, Utah; Lesa (Tim) Palmer of Blackfoot, Idaho; Kelly (Dave) Calder of Lapoint, Utah; Travis Nielson of Lapoint,Utah; Tyler (JaDee) Nielson of Lapoint, Utah; Bobbi Jo Horrocks of Lapoint, Utah. They lived in Tridell, Whiterocks, Heber, Logan, and Lapoint during there 52 years of marriage. Cathy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an active member and served in many callings throughout her life. Cathy enjoyed family most of all and her family included many. She took in and loved anyone who needed a family. She looked forward to dinners, reunions, ballgames, and any activity that brought her family together. She also enjoyed working at the Lapoint Store for many years and visiting with everyone, working in her yards, cooking, playing boggle, camping, traveling and shopping for a good bargain. She always remembered everyone's birthday and special occasions. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was forgiving and accepted of everyone. Cathy is survived by her husband, Clinton Nielson; all six of her children, 19 grand-children and one great-grand-child. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, LaNar Lamb, Byrell Lamb, Jarius Lamb, Curtis Lamb and Laynel lamb; three sister, Darlene Cox, Adelle Sheilds, and Mardean Lane. One great-grand-child, Weston Chivers. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and community. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lapoint LDS Chapel. Friends and family may call at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. and at the Church from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services.
