Born Catherine Carla Elizabeth, to Swedish immigrants Carl and Helga Elstad in Minneapolis, MN on Nov 12, 1928, Catherine died of pneumonia complications on May 24, 2012 in Vernal. Most of her life, she was an active member in community service including Kingsbury Community Church, the PEO sisterhood, Pink Ladies and Rotary International. An avid reader, she worked at Bittercreek Books for years and enjoyed sharing books with friends and family. She was happily married to Leon Chamberlain for 46 years until his death in March of 2001 and is survived by son Pete Chamberlain and his wife Connie, along with their four children and one grandchild and daughter Diane Chamberlain and her husband Scott Elmer. Her son, Scott Chamberlain, died in 1992. Catherine was very lucky to find a second love in Clifton Perry who was also widowed. They were married on March 19, 2005 and enjoyed seven wonderful years of marriage together. She is survived by Clifton, son Russ Perry and his wife Cindy, along with their 6 children and 7 grandchildren and son Roger Perry and his wife Sherry, along with their 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Tuesday May 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingsbury Community Church. A viewing was held 1 hour prior to the services. Burial was in the Rockpoint Cemetery under the care and direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Donations can be made in Catherines name to Pink Ladies, care of Ashley Regional Medical Ctr.
