Cecilia B Couey

Cecilia passed away on Wednesday, December 14, in her home in Vernal. She was born February 3, 1938, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. On July 2^nd 1955 she married service man Roy N Crawford, soon afterwards they came to the United States.

They settled in Dove Creek, Colorado where they had a daughter. They moved to Moab, Utah and had two sons. Roy was killed in a mining accident on February 18^th 1960. Cecilia went back to Germany to see her family. They all wanted her to stay, but she wanted her 3 children to have a better life, she came back to Moab. On December 22^nd 1960 she married Roy E. Couey and had a son and daughter. Together they raised 5 kids which Cecilia bragged about to everyone in Texas and Utah.

Cecilia read her bible every day to the point the pages have come apart from the binding, she loved Jesus and gospel music. Cecilia’s passions and interest were working in her yard and growing flowers. She loved to fish and cook for the guys while they were hunting. She loved to crochet and give gifts to her family and friends. Cecilia’s favorite time of the year was Christmas and she made sure her grandkids got something special. Cecilia loved spoiling her grandkids.

Cecilia will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children; Christine (Ken) Novak, of Albuquerque, NM, Rick Crawford, of Albuquerque, NM, Terry (Tanya) Crawford, of Fritch, TX, Les (Lola) Couey, of Mannford, OK, Mary (John) Anelli, of Vernal, UT, 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Neal Crawford, Mother and father, Gertrude (Sister), Brian Scott (Son-in law), Roy Couey (Grandson), Roy E Couey (Late husband), Elizabeth (Sister), Kristy Crawford (Daughter -in-law) Magdalena (Sister).

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary with a viewing held 1 hour prior. Burial will take place in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
