Connie Fae Christensen

Born in Vernal, Utah on 05/14/1937. Passed away peacefully from lung failure on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. Daughter to Ersel and Thurza Sprouse. Married Jens Dale Christensen on August 19, 1954. Connie was a loving caring mother to Korby and Roxie. She always had a bed and hot meal for anyone who needed one. For many years after losing her grandson Connie would dress up in full witches costume and visit the children at Primary Children's Hospital. This continued for many years and brought much joy to her and the children. Connie was employed at O.C. Tanners for many years. Then found her love for ceramics and began teaching seniors for Salt Lake County Senior Services. This is where she developed a circle of friends that she cherished while working at Jackie's Ceramics. Mom received many blue ribbons and best of show at the Utah State Fair and County Fairs. She was asked to judge many shows and County Fairs because of her expertise. She was honored with the Salt Lake Ceramic Guild Peggy Award . The only recipient to achieve the Peggy two years in a row. Connie is survived by husband Jens Dale Christensen, son, Korby (Marian) Christensen, daughter, Roxanna (Martin) Moss. 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, brother, Larry (Bud) Eugene Sprouse, grandson, Paul Eugene Christensen. Connie was loved and admired by all of her nieces and nephews each in their special way, she will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Lung Association. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. A viewing for Family and friends will be Tuesday, January 31th from 6-8 PM and 1 hour prior. Burial will be in the Rock Point Cemetery the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
