Dale Wakley Snyder also known as Grand Dad, age 85 of Vernal, passed away at the Uintah Care Center on February 8, 2014. He was born June 13, 1928 in Duchesne County, Utah to Robert and Lucille Hale Snyder. He was a hard worker, working long hard days in the trucking Company, This was so he could buy Jo Ann a wedding ring. Dale married his sweetheart, and Love of his life, JoAnn Jenkins on August 21, 1949 in Dove Creek, Colorado. Dale and Jo Ann had a love story marriage, they were intertwined, connected, best friends, and brought out the best in each other. Upon losing JoAnn on August 14, 2001, broke His heart. Grand Dad was a practical man getting by and making use of what he had preserving things. Grand Dad was a genuine and loving to others. His attitude was if they needed it more than him, so be it. He was always seen with a lunch box and a mug of coffee. He loved the outdoors. His greatest love was his Family; he was an avid writer writing letters faithfully to his family. He is survived by daughters, Mareen (Frank) Dorka of Rico, Colorado; Linda Strode of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Chelsea Dorka, Molly Eatman, Sean Strode, Spencer Strode, Samantha Strode; and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn; son, Larry Snyder; and infant daughter, Bonnie Joyce Snyder. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myton City Utah Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
