Mother was born on April 2, 1939, in Prosser, Washington to Theodor and Alvinetta Achziger. She was the third of six daughters. She graduated from Prosser High School in 1957. She met and fell in love with a handsome rough neck. She married Dad on March 21, 1958. They followed the rig through Washington and Oregon for eight months then settled in Vernal. That Christmas came their greatest Christmas joy. They did such a wonderful job that they tried it again five more times. I was born first, then Calvin, Sandra, Denise, Cheri Dawn, and Moe. Mother and Dad bought a little farm in Naples and moved there on August 5, 1964. That lead to years of rodeoing and horse racing. There are a lot of people who call her mother because she was the milk lady. She also worked at Diamond Hills and the Liquor Store. She retired from the liquor store after working there for 18 years. Mother enjoyed life and spending time with friends and family, especially around the kitchen table. She travelled to Washington and California to visit family, making stops along the way to play 3 Card Poker and the slot machines. She made annual hunting trips to Sheep Creek. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and crafting with Billy Kay and Jan Day. She also crocheted and painted cement figures. Mother has 15 grandkids, 17 great-grand kids, a whole bunch of family, and a million friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
