Dianne Lauretta Ficken was born on May 25th, 1940 and went home to be with her Lord on September 18, 2012. She was 72 years old. Dianne was born in Anaheim, California, to Harold and Almira Fellbaum. She was the oldest of three children. When she was a senior in High School she met Ronald Ficken, and they were married on May 25th 1959. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage and had three sons, Randy, Roger and Rodney. She and her husband Ron have lived in Rangely for the past 12 years. Dianne loved to participate in a wide variety of activities. Her favorite past times were walking the beach and fishing. Other interests included, singing, volunteering for children, quilting, baking, teaching kindergarten, painting, picking berries with her grandchildren, and collecting shells on the beach. Dianne was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma cancer in June. Although struggling with the disease was hard, she ultimately kept a strong faith in the Lord, whom she has loved for many years serving in the Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Ficken and sons Randy, Roger and Rodney and eight grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rangely, at 10.30am Saturday September 22nd 2012. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Rangely City Cemetery, arrangements by Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
