Don V. Christensen, age 90, of Jensen, passed away January 8, 2016 at his daughters home in Vernal. He was born November 23, 1925 in Sanford, Colorado to Roy Price and Mable Varley Christensen. He married the love of his life Una Harrison on May 24, 1952 in the SLC LDS Temple, they had six children. Don served in the 62nd Army Signal Battalion, during World War II. Don retired from Kennecott Copper Mine Corporation after 15 years. Don was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He was an active Vernal Temple worker and served a mission in England. He was a BYU Cougar Club member and a season ticket holder for BYU football and basketball life truly bled blue. He favorite past time was Studying maps and keeping up with church history growth. He lived for Saturdays when he received his church news. He loved the gospel with all his heart and loved a clean wholesome life. He loved spending quality time with family whether it is camping or family B-B'Qs. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Una Christensen, parents, 4 brothers, Herman, Ralph, Erle, & Lynn. He is survived by his children, William Roy (Peggy) Christensen of Tooele, Utah, Orlan Dale (Tina) Christensen of Jensen, Utah, Laretta Ehlers of West Valley City, Utah, Donna (Kelly) Smith of South Jordan, Utah, Lucinda (Barry) Winter of Vernal, Utah, Marla (Larry) Williams of Vernal, Utah; 28 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Uintah Stake Center (4080 South 2500 East). A viewing for Family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and at the Chapel one hour prior to the services.
