Dorothy "Elaine" Nash

Dorothy (Elaine) Nash, 82, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024 in Mapleton, Utah surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 23, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elbert Joseph and Hillis Helene Hill Steinaker.

Elaine graduated from Manila High School in 1959. She was a cheerleader and involved in 4-H.

Elaine married Gustave Rex Lund in 1959. Together they had 3 amazing children, Tami, Troy, and Tommy.

Later they divorced.

In 1986 Elaine married Harold Kenneth Nash and added two more children, Jon and Marc to her family.

Ken and Elaine spent many years together with friends and family enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and they loved their summer weekends at the track with their racehorse, Varlet. Later in life, winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona. They made many wonderful friends and memories.

Elaine loved to knit and crochet dish cloths and baby blankets. These are a family favorite!! She always took great pride in her lovely home and yard. She was one of the first female US Postal Contractors. She took pride in being a pioneer in her profession.

Elaine was a Ford truck lover. This was the main vehicle she would use on the mail route, which in turn led her to be in a Ford commercial. She absolutely loved her job and the people she became acquainted with; she was very dedicated to the communities she served, and she always went above and beyond for everyone.

She was well known for her wonderful sense of humor and her ever-loving positive attitude.

Elaine was a friend to everyone. She never met a stranger.

Above all, Elaine was a dedicated Mother and Grandmother, she loved her family “so-so much”!

There will be a huge hole in all of our hearts without our Mom, Grammy, Sister, and Friend.

Elaine is survived by her children; Tamara Elaine Brayton of Vernal, UT., Troy (Jacque) Lund of Mapleton, UT., Tommy (Apryl) Lund of Vernal, UT., Jon Nash of Grand Junction, CO., and Marc Nash of Grand Junction, CO., Brother's: Elbert Punky Steinaker, of Manila UT, John Randolph Steinaker, of Pleasant Grove, UT and Sister, Bobbette Aline (Alfred) Reich of Austin, TX 19 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.
