Shirley Duane Ainge, age 71, of Vernal, returned home to his Heavenly father on January 1, 2015 in Roosevelt, Utah. He was born November 28, 1943 to Shirley Nile and Bernice Cook Ainge. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing on the Green River, hunting with his boys and friends, and a lot of rock hunting. Nothing pleased him more than to spend time with his grandkids. They were his pride and joy. Duane married Lana Williamson; they had 2 sons, Jared Nile and Mikel G. They were later divorced. Duane lived in Dinosaur Colorado for many years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, and serviced in the Army services. He will be greatly missed, always in our hearts and many wonderful memories. A special thanks to his very good friends, Bruce Long, Reg Freestone for all you did for Duane and his family. He is survived by his son, Mikel G.; step-daughters, Jerricka, Kylee, Aurora of Rocksprings, WY; 1 grandson, Maddox Nile of vernal; sister, Cherie Ainge of Salt Lake City, Utah; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Jared Nile; step-son, Matt Gardiner; parents, 2 brothers, Gary and Harold G. Graveside services will be Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rockpoint cemetery. Friends and family may call at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary from 12:45-2:00 p.m. prior to going to cemetery.
