Edna M. Soltis

Edna M. Roth Soltis, passed away at the Uintah Care Center on February 9, 2016. Edna was born in Coalton, OK to Louise and Fred Frere and was 99 years old at the time of her passing. After many hard but happy years growing up in a coal camp Edna married Albert W. Roth at Mt. Harris, CO on April 24, 1934. They lived in Colorado, Utah and California before moving to Rock Springs, Wyoming in 1950. They later divorced in 1960. Edna married Andrew Soltis and spent 19 happy and prosperous years together in Rock Springs until Andy's sudden death in 1979. During this time she enjoyed homemaking, bowling, hunting and fishing and was also a past madam president of Eagles Lodge Aux, 151. Edna moved to Vernal, Utah in 1980 to be with her family she loved dancing at the senior center with her many friends. Although not active, she was a longtime member of the American Legion Aux. She is survived by her son, Allen (Jan) Roth, Vernal, Utah; daughter Janice (Rod) Evans of St. George, UT; step-son Richard (Penny) Soltis, Taylorsville, UT; grandchildren, Robert (Judy) Roth, and Brett Roth, Vernal, UT; Diane Van Buckeye, AZ; Cindy (Paul) Maestas, St. George, UT; Kimmie (Warren) Rouse, Rock Springs, WY; Mark Moriarty, Mesquite, NV; thirteen great grandchildren and five and one half great, great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Hayden Cemetery in Hayden Colorado. A viewing for family and friends will be at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to traveling to the Hayden Cemetery Anyone who knew her, loved her.
