Edward John Zurbuchen, 92, of Vernal, UT, died September 17, 2024.

He was born September 16, 1932 to John & Louise (Meyer) Zurbuchen in La Crosse, WI. He served in the Navy during the Korean War 1950-1954 as a deckhand aboard the USS Union. He married Elizabeth Johnson on July 11, 1959 and had 3 children. They divorced in 1978. He then married Donna Burchinal, of Vernal, UT., and was widowed in 2007. 

He was an avid gardener who immensely cared for & enjoyed the community of Vernal by participating in local politics, serving the homeless & growing organic fruits & vegetables. Ed worked for Vernal City for many years to help beautify the walking park and was involved in helping beautify main street with the flower pots you see today. He also delivered mail with the Vernal Express. 

Edward is survived by his children: Peter (Lisa Mohr) of Minneapolis, MN; Elissa Zurbuchen (Marc Ostermeier) of Baltimore, MD. His grandchildren: Peter, Wilhelmina, Serafina, Gabriel, Shipharah, Israel, Brita & Sara; & great grandchildren Landon, Laila & Lillia. Sister Patricia Gendreau of Lake Havasu, NV, and many nieces & nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, sister Karole Peters; brothers Mitch & Herbert; wives Elizabeth & Donna, & son Todd.

A viewing will be held Friday, September 27 from 9:30-10:30 at the Mortuary. Graveside Services will then follow at 11 AM at the Rock Point Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion.
