Elaine Rich

An amazing lady, Elaine Fay Soderquist Rich, age 88 of Vernal, has passed on. She was born on April 15, 1924 in Sunnyside, Utah to Carl Arthur and Marie Wiest Soderquist. She married Kenneth Rich in August of 1942. He passed away in 1993. There was not much that Elaine could not do. She could go from irrigation boots and a shovel to a dress and high heels in no time. She could feed her cows, tend the fields, till and plant the garden, can everything in sight and then prepare a meal for her family. And then when company showed up unexpected, she could add some magic and an extra potato and feed them all. She loved her family and friends very much and will be missed by all. Elaine is survived by her sister; Lorna Mayberry, daughter; Dorothy (Bob) Pitchford, granddaughter; Tonie (Michael) Fagnan, 2 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kenny Pearson and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ken, son; Craig, and brother; Duane Soderquist. Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vernal 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Viewings were Sunday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the Chapel. Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the care and direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
