Elva Pearl Karren Bowthrope, passed away at her home in Vernal on January 4, 2014 at the age of 88. She was born September 20, 1925 to Jacob and Lizzi Severson Karren. She married her sweet heart Rulon C. Bowthorpe. Elva loved her family and friends, she was a friend to everyone, and she loved the Gospel and tried to live each day with Christ in mind and to its fullest. Elva was a devoted Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served a mission to Portland, Oregon, Also serving in numerous callings like in the temple, Sunday school teacher, Primary teacher, young womens leader, Relief society visiting teacher, and nursery leader, never turning a calling down. She cleaned businesses such as Motels and Hospitals, and worked in Central Processing. Her latest job was at Standard Saddle Tree making cinches and Saddle Trees with Dad. Elva loved to go to family reunions spending time with the family anything together, camping, and going for rides in the mountains hoping to see many animals or to go there to eat; She had many pets from skunks and birds to pigs and geese, cats and dogs; she could never be mean to anything. She loved baking, making wedding cakes, dancing, sewing, and being with people, doing things for others, watching her grandkids play a ball game or doing something they loved, she was awesome at getting her food storage. Elva was always friendly and caring for others, and loved everyone; she always gave her love and appreciation in a hug She is survived by her children, Kerry (Marqueita) Bowthorpe, Wade (Ellen) Bowthorpe, Loa Kay Bowthorpe, Sherline (Kerm) Hackford; grandchildren, Sheila (Jim) Wallace, Brandon (Keri) Bowthorpe, Daynken Bowthrope, Camille (Caleb) Carner, Chaney (Andie) Bowthrope, Candice (Derek) Broome, Cadene (Joe) Dolezal, cade (Courtney) Bowthrope, Jordan Westfall, Corey Hackford, Tayna Hacking; great- grandchildren, Alexis (Colt) Atwood, Keeley Bowthrope, Austin Wallace, Mackenzie Wallace, Kyler Carner, Bryne Carner, Reeve Carner, Trean Broome, Cameron Broome, Dawson Broome, Rulynn Bowthrope, Trey Dolezal, Sianna Dolezal, Gracie Bowthrope, Hannah Bowthrope; siblings, Laurance (Verna) Karren, Bert (Edris) Karren, Ivan (Alta) karren, Clark (Ella) Goodrich, Lyle Simper; great-great grandchildren, Hadlee Atwood, Jaxtyn Atwood, Chase Atwood; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Naples LDS Chapel. (2313 South 1500 East Hwy 40). Friends and family may call at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Wednesday evening from 6-8 and at the Chapel one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
