Ethel Yourdon

Ethel Yourdon, 85, passed away on November 23, 2016 in Vernal, Utah. Ethel June Greenhow was born in Vernal, Utah on May 7, 1931. She was the daughter of Hyrum and Nondis Greenhow. Ethel grew up in Vernal and attended Vernal High School. She married Marvin Yourdon on September 3, 1953 in Vernal. They lived most of their life in the Fruita / Grand Junction area. She worked as a cashier for many years. Ethel was a member of the Rebekahs and Grace Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, brothers Bert Greenhow and Richard (Dick) Greenhow. She is survived by her son Douglas Yourdon of Vernal, daughters Shanna Pell of Caney, KS and Penny Coy of Caney, KS, sisters Agnes Smuin of Vernal, Leta Carpenter of Vernal, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Vernal with a viewing from 10-12 at the church. Burial will be in the Jensen Cemetery. The family request donations in lieu of flowers to be made to the local Humane Society.
