Fern L. Burton Gardner passed away peacefully, in her home February 21st, 2017. She was born April 27th, 1929 in Salt Lake City Utah to parents, Wilda Marie Mecham and Henry Burton (Stepfather: Paul D. Gibbs). Fern married Iliff Pink Gardner in 1945 after Pink finished serving his country in the Navy. They Lived in Kearns, UT for 24 years then moved to Vernal, UT in 1969. She worked for Uintah County as an Assistant Deputy Assessor for 20+ years. Fern later served Vernal Regional Hospital as a volunteer Pink lady for 20 years. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, dominos, crafts, gardening and took great pride in hard work and a job done right. Fern's biggest pride and joy was her family: Husband, Iliff Pink Gardner; children, late Jay Gardner, late Stephen Gardner, and Becky DeCol; (Husband: Rob DeCol) 6 grand children and 9 great grand children. As demonstrated by her service as a volunteer for many years, Fern was a caring, loving person who would have done anything for anyone. She was loved and will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24th, 2017 at 2:00 PM the Neola Cemetery in Neola, UT. Services are under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
