Floyd Ray Morris, passed away peacefully in his home November 15, 2019 in Vernal, Utah. Ray was born August 7, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Floyd Rilo and Alta Leona Callaway Morris. Ray spent three years in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1955. During his service he was awarded the National Defense service medal, China service medal, Navy occupational (Europe) service medal. In January of 1974 Ray married his sweetheart Linda Oden.
Ray showed horses and earned awards in both Texas and Utah. He team penned where he won a saddle and many Belt Buckles , he spent a lot of time and loved working in horsemanship. Ray spent his life time working in the oilfield; overseas in Libya, in Texas and Utah. But when he wasn't working he was with his family. His nieces and nephews in Odessa Texas loved calling him “Uncle Peavine”
He is Proceeded in death by his Wife Linda Oden Morris; Children Coy Dale Morris, Robert Jay Bobbie Morris, Monty Ray Morris; Parents, Sisters Lilly Kay Lovell and Margie Ann Murray; Brother in laws Larry Martin and David Hubbard
He is Survived by his children Larry Morris (Marsha), Kenny Morris (Gala), Bobby Karl Cunningham, Joetta Kemper all of Vernal; 11 nieces and nephews; 14 Grandchildren; 25 Great-grandchildren; 4 Great-great grandchildren; Sisters Virgie V Martin (Texas) and Patsy Lee Hubbard (Texas)
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary. Viewings will be Monday from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Rock Point Cemetery with Military Honors from the American Legion. Under the direction of Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary and Cremation Care.
