Gary Don Byrom

Gary Don Byrom was born June 18, 1951 in Oklahoma City, OK to Stanford William and Beatrice Harkins Byrom. He died at his home January 27, 2017 at the age 65. Raised by his Grandmother Rosie Byrom in Tulsa, OK., the family then moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1968, where he finished his college education. He married Julia Jones August 2, 1972 in the Manti Temple. He has three daughters Janice Hugie (John) Tennessee, Katie Merkley (Jason) Ridgway, Colorado, and Lisa Hayes (Matt) Kaysville, Utah. He is survived by his wife, his children, his three Grandchildren, and half brother Mike Byrom (Texas). He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, father, and mother. He became a computer programmer as a teenager in Oklahoma. He then worked selling his software worldwide and consulting for other companies. While he had one last program that he was designing, he was unable to finish it before his mental capacity and health declined. He has lived in Salt Lake City, Sandy, Draper, and Park City, but Vernal was his home and it provided him with peace and quiet. He enjoyed the mountains, traveling, scuba diving, and teaching Sunday school. Graveside service will be January 31, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Rockpoint Cemetery.
