George Smith

George A. Smith Sr. passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Rangely District Hospital. He was born to Augustus and Mary Duritzo Smith on May 1, 1929 in Graceton, Pennsylvania.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. George worked 40 + years in the oilfield and 7 years in the Coal Mines in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survived by his wife; Phyllis Beck Smith; children; George Jr. (Christine); Paula Smith, Sharon (Robert) Box; Mark (Cheri) Smith; Michelle (Mike) Harvey; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 10 great great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife Mary Smith; brothers, Augustus Smith Jr; Joseph Smith; Frances D’Aurelio; sisters, Renee Tacie; daughter, Rebecca Johnson

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 P.M. at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Rangely Colorado. Burial will be in the Rangely Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary & Cremation Care. www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com
