Gerald "Jerry" Burgon

Gerald Dean Burgon, born September 17th 1932, passed away on January 23rd, 2017 at the age of 84. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Burgon, Florence Leatham and his grandparents Raymond Garrett Leatham and Susannah Evelyn Porter. He is survived by his children: Taunia (Clinton) Wheeler, Troy (Kathy) Burgon, Wendy (Mark) Duff, Collette Brightwell and Kevin Burgon; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Jerry spent his formative years working the family dry farm with his grandpa Ray, his hero, his idol, his mentor. He found his purpose vocationally working for a private contractor for the Atomic Energy Commission now known and the US Department of Energy, at the nuclear test site in the vicinity of Las Vegas, Nevada. His love of good music, books, writing, motor cycles and family were a constant in his life. This is where he found his peace, his joy and his life. Funeral Services for Gerold Burgon, age 84 of, Vernal will be conducted Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Glines LDS Chapel (1275 West 1500 South). Friends and Family may call 1 hour prior to services, Burial will be Monday at 11:00 AM in the Wellsville Cemetery, Under the direction and care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
