Glen Everett Hubbard beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather returned to his Heavenly Father on August 1 after a short illness. Glen was born September 2, 1931 in Norton, Kansas. He was the second child born to Buell and Ruth Hubbard. He married Victoria Courange on May 10, 1958 in Cortez Colorado. They were the parents of two children Carlene (Terry) Muir of Vernal and Timothy (Alice) Hubbard of Phoenix, Arizonia. Glen grew up during the depression on a wheat farm in Kansas. He learned to work hard and make do from the time he was a small child, values he kept for the rest of his life. After high school Glen planned on being a wheat farmer like his dad, but after his first wheat crop was destroyed by hell the day before he was going to cut it he decided to try the oil field. It was a decision he never regretted. Dad started out as a roughneck and worked his way up to consulting. He worked in the oilfield for over 50 years and loved it. During his life he worked in 7 western states and two foreign countries, he also worked on rigs out in the Pacific ocean. He always loved sports and some of the happiest times in his life were watching his grandkids playing soccer and football, he never missed a game. Glen is survived by his two children Carlene (Terry) Muir and Timothy (Alice) Hubbard. Grandchildren Kymberly (Mandy) Campbell Fruitland, Utah Kari (Larry) Moon Vernal, Jamie (Chance) Massey Vernal, Cody (Natalie) Muir Vernal, and Katie Muir, Vernal 8 great grandchildren, Jadelyn Massey, Makinley Moon, Kyson Moon, Miranda Campbell, Kendyl Massey, Easton Moon, Madalin Campbell and Cache Massey. Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Victoria his mother, father and his sister Donna Manley and her husband Lavern Manley.
Funeral services were held at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary on August 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Interment at the Rockpoint Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. The family would like to thank the staff of the Uintah County Care Center for all the support and kindness they showed dad and all of us during this difficult time.
