Born to James T. and Effie Holfeltz on June 8, 1932, Glenda Rae was the second youngest of six children and also had ten half sisters and brothers. The family lived in Glines and operated a small family farm. She was a member of the Uintah High School Class of 1950. Glenda Rae married Gilbert Brown on January 30th of that same year. They were later blessed with two daughters, Sue and Joan. For nine years, Gib and Glenda along with Gib’s parents, owned and operated the Corner Store at 500 W 100 S. In 1960, they sold the Corner Store and Glenda Rae went to work for Carpets By Cal. In 1965, she went to work for Utah Power and Light, where she worked for nineteen years. Glenda Rae was an active member of her church and served in many different callings. She was kind and caring, and valiant in always serving others. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, painting, skiing, bowling, square dancing, and golf; but her greatest joy came from taking care of and spending time with her family. After retirement, Gib and Glenda began spending winters in Arizona. They loved their time and many friendships established there. Glenda Rae is survived by two daughters; Sue Brown of Vernal, and Joan Eisenhauer (Roger) of Caldwell, Idaho; three grandkids, four great grandkids, brother Clark Duane Holfeltz, and sister Lhea Hicken. She is preceded in death by husband Gib Brown, husband of 68 years; parents James T. and Effie Holfeltz; sisters Bea Saccomanno and Donna Lee Poplin, and brother, Jay Holfeltz. Funeral services will be Thursday May 24, 2018 at 12:00 Noon @ Vernal 5th & 9th Ward Chapel (250 North 200 West) next to Hospital.
