Glenn J. Huber, 88, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend of Lapoint, UT passed away peacefully in his home with his family at his side on November 12, 2017. Glenn was born November 1, 1929 in Lapoint, UT, the 4th of 5 children, to Frank and Ardith Huber. He graduated from Altera High School in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Beth Morrill on May 28, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. Six months later he left to serve in the Korean War for the U.S. Army as a switch board operator. When his service was completed, he returned to Lapoint to the family ranch to continue farming, ranching, and to start a family. Glenn was an active member of his church and community. He served in the bishopric, as ward financial clerk, home teacher, quorum group leader and many other callings. He was on various water board committees and drove a school bus for 17 years for Uintah County School District. Glenn is survived by his loving wife, of 66 years, Shirley Huber; 4 daughters: Gwen (Steven/Beaver) Duncan, Bennett, UT; Paula (Dean) Thompson Salt Lake City, UT; Marie (Douglas) Kirk Vernal, UT; Cristy (Matthew) Furniss Lehi, UT; 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and his sister Kathryn Walker, Lapoint, UT. Glenn is proceeded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, son Kelly Glen Huber, grandson Richard Kirk, and great grandson Waylon Huber. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Ashley Valley Medical Center, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Uintah Care Center, and Good Shepard Home Care and Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Lapoint LDS Chapel. A viewing for family and friends will be at the Chapel from 9:00-10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lapoint Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by American Legion. Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary.
