Hallas “Hal“ G. Hatch

January 27, 1940 – November 11, 2024

Hal passed away Veterans Day November 11th, 2024 at home with his family where his heart is. Hal loved his family.

Hal has more friends than practically any person on the Earth! He had a life full of joy truly loved life to the fullest!

Hal was born to Monroe and Theata Hatch in Vernal and raised on a farm in Jensen. He loved country life spending many years farming, haying, and raising cattle. Hal was an Allstate football player at Uintah High School gaining a full ride scholarship to Utah State University where he was a standout athlete. From College he was drafted into overseas Army operations for several years where he learned to love the Armed Services, Hal served his entire life with many more years with the American Legion. He truly loved the USA and what it stands for.

He returned home and married Judy Hall, starting and raising a family in Vernal on a small farm. He enjoyed good horses, roping, hunting, coaching and camping as much as he could. Hal started Oil Tool Sales in Vernal and soon was asked to move to Denver enjoying very successful large companies he was with and eventually retiring to Vernal opening up his own Oil Tool Company that kept him busy. He enjoyed the Oil business immensely and has thousands of friends still in it. Hal is definitely the “King of the Coffee Shops” in Vernal! Some of his closest friends can still be found arguing and poking fun of each other daily at many of these establishments, namely at “Connie’s”-7-11 cafe in Vernal, and always considered it an extension of home!

Hal leaves behind a wife of 65 years, Judy, Vernal, sons Derk-Alicen Hatch, Vernal, Cory-Lori Hatch, Denver, Garr-Sandy Hatch, Phoenix, 8 grandkids, 2 great grand kids, and a very close Nieces Rhonda Batty of Vernal, Nikki- Ray Lund, of Vernal. Cousins Greg Gilroy, Toby Gilroy, Dennis Hatch, Brownie Tomlinson and many others in a close-knit family.

He is preceded in death by a brother Calvin, mother and father, and sister Roena Licht.

Amen
