Hanley Bruce Vinson, age 93, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 1, 2016. Hanley was born to William Baird Vinson and Pearl Irene Sutton Vinson on November 3, 1922 in El Reno, OK, the youngest of 5 children. The family moved that same year to the Meeker CO area. Hanley was schooled in Meeker, and worked in the Bonanza Mine before serving four years in the Navy, South Pacific. He met and married Dolly May Jensen and they lived in CA where their son Darrel and daughter Julie were born. He worked and retired from the Ford Motor Company. Hanley was fairly full of music. He won jitter-bug contests in high school, and sang bass in the Southern California Mormon Choir. After the loss of Dolly, Hanley married Nola June Pehrson. They enjoyed 26 years together filled with music and laughter. He will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Ashley Stake Center (475 South 100 South). A viewing for Family and friends will be same day, Thursday from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services with Military Honors provided by American Legion. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park in Whittier, California on May 10, 2016. Services are under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
