Harold Morse Covington, 78, passed away peacefully Friday February 12, 2016 at his home in Lapoint, UT. He was born November 1, 1937 to Luther and June Covington in American Fork, UT. Harold was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and served a mission in New Zealand for 2.5 years. He raised his family in Utah and worked at Kennecott Copper Mine and BYU. He was a very hard worker and loved the outdoors. Gardening was one of his passions and he has had one every year of his married life. Harold met his second wife about 20 years ago and they were married in the Mt. Timpagonas Temple 19 years. He also worked the the Vernal UT temple. The gospel of Jesus Christ and his family were the love of his life and he will be greatly missed by all. Harold was survived by his wife, Vicki Covington, Sisters, Carol Shook, Sandra Henrie, Brother Jerry Covington. Sons: Ron, David and Gary Covington, Daughters: Lorna Hortman, Emelie Haygood their spouses and the mother of his children, Delphine Covington. Step children, Cari Evans, Christine Jordan, Lora Evans and Lee Evans and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Lapoint LDS Chapel. A viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the services at the Lapoint Chapel. Burial will be in the Lapoint Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
