HELEN FLORENCE EDDY DAGGETT OBITUARY
Helen Florence Eddy was born June 15, 1922 in the rural area around Deep Creek, Colorado where her family had a homestead for the raising and sale of horses. Helen was the only child of eight to be born in their four room log cabin.
Her parents were Henry Monroe Eddy & Hazel May (Erwin) Eddy.
She was proceeded in death by six brothers and sisters and is survived by her youngest sister, Irene Kuchler of Montrose, Colorado.
Helen’s family moved to Hayden, Colorado during her teenage years where she attended Hayden Schools.
Helen married James Harry Daggett in Vernal, Utah on Nov 4, 1939. They lived in Hayden Colorado for several years where Jim was a truck driver. The family moved to Wilson Creek, Colorado when Jim became an employee of the Texas Company in the late 1940’s. Jim was transferred to Rangely, Colorado where the family moved with the California Company (now Chevron). Helen faithfully moved to Red Wash, Utah, Vernal Utah, Big Piney, Wyoming and back to Vernal as Jim’s work locations changed.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Jim in March of 1995 and her son Lane in 2012. Helen and Jim were married for fifty-six years at the time of JIm’s passing. She is survived by her children and spouses:
Ron and Wanda Daggett, Rock Springs, Wyoming;
Lane (deceased) and Doreen Daggett, Vernal, Utah;
Penny and Bill Black, Vernal, Utah;
Judy and Paul Williams Albuquerque, New Mexico;
Greg and Claudia Daggett, The Woodlands, Texas;
Jim and Annette Daggett, Vernal, Utah;
Phil and Chris Daggett, Vernal, Utah
In addition, Helen is survived by Twenty Six Grand Children, Forty Six Great Grand Children, and a plethora of Great Great Grand Children.
Helen had been a resident of the Uintah Care Center for the past five years until her passing on August 20, 2019.
During her many years in Vernal Helen was charter member of the Vernal Christian Church and Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel.
During her long and fruitful lifetime Helen was a sister, wife, mother, aunt, grand mother, great grandmother, great great grandmother. She was also a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study leader, Ladies Bible Teacher, church choir member, 4H leader and a member of the Eastern Star.
She was surrounded by her surviving children and many grand children at the time of her passing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11 AM with a visitation at 9:45-10:45 AM. Burial will be held at the Vernal Memorial Park. All service will be held at Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary and Cremation Care. In lieu flowers please donate to the Ashley Valley. Calvery Chapel avcalvary.org
