Helen Thelma Ingram Steven, age 93, was born July 27, 1926, and died peacefully at the care center June 1, 2019.
Our mom was born in Cisco, Texas and was raised by her grandmother and grandfather in Dalton, Georgia.
She went to work at the age of thirteen in Chenille bedspread making plant, grapefruit canning plants and during the war helped make and inspect parachutes. She was going to work in an airplane factory but changed her mind.
She married Carl Amon Steven, who had just come back from his tour of duty in WWII. They moved to Colorado and then to Vernal, where she stayed the remainder of her life. She waitredded at Jim's Cafe, 7-11 Ranch Restaurant, worked with the school district and spent her last 16 years making saddle cinches at The Old Standard Saddle Tree.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Stevens Brewer, son Carl Stevens, two sisters, a brother, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
As mom requested there were so services. We give sincere Thanks to Good Shepherd, hospice and Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary
