Henry Thomas Peltier Jr. (Hank), of Jensen, Utah passed away September 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Oak Creek, Colorado on May 31, 1935 to Grace and Henry Thomas Peltier Sr. Hank attended grade school at the Haybro School near the Keystone Mine where his father worked. He then attended Oak Creek High School and graduated in 1953 along with fourteen classmates. After high school he attended college in Fort Collins, Colorado and studied Soil Conservation. In the summer of 1956 while working in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, he met Glee Chew, daughter of Doug and Eleanor Chew. On December 15th, 1956, Hank and Glee celebrated their wedding at the Chew Ranch in Jensen, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Hank was always interested in and enjoyed agriculture and ranching. He and Glee bought a ranch in Dry Fork Canyon and raised sheep, cattle, horses, and children. As a child, he began working as a ranch hand and grocery delivery boy. In college he worked as a waiter and for the Soil Conservation Service as lab technician. Along with ranching, Hank worked as a miner and in the gas and oil production industry. He was active in the Cattleman's Association and participated in the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo Committee. He was an active member of the LDS Church and loved home teaching and held many callings in the church. He especially enjoyed serving as a temple worker in the Vernal Utah Temple. Glee passed away July 3, 1973 and Hank later married Tamara Curfew Morrill on November 28, 1986. They proudly raised quality pork, cattle, and horses at their ranch in Jensen, Utah. Tamara and Hank went on a LDS Mission to Nauvoo, Illinois in 2009 where he worked as a teamster working with oxen and horses. Hank always loved life and riding his ATV to check on cows and tend water on his ranch but most of all he loved his family and spending time with them. Hank is survived by five children: Rian (Earleen), Arleigh (Kent), Hal, Valerie (Herm), and Keith as well as five stepchildren: Lynnette (Mike), Greg (Rebecca), Brent (Julie), Tonja, and Tamilyn. He is also survived by a sister Joan Livingston and a brother David Peltier. He had a great love for many people; among those are Ben Lofthouse, Victoria Peltier, Andrew Young, and Charity Harer. Hank greatly enjoyed his 32 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Glee, parents, grandson Henry Cole Peltier, son-in-law Larry Curtis, and great-granddaughter Brisa Faith Curtis. Funeral Services will be help on September 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Jensen LDS Chapel. A viewing will be held on September 21, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jensen LDS Chapel. Interment will be in the Dry Fork Cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn Mortuary.
