Jack Boyer Ruppe
October 08, 1935 - November 15, 2024
Vernal, Utah
Jack Boyer Ruppe, was called back to his Heavenly Home on November 15, 2024 following a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Jack’s example of devotion to family, friends, community and especially to the Savior were second to none. As a devout and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he lived his life in the service of others.
Aptly named, Jack quickly became a Jack-Of-All-Trades. There was nothing he couldn’t accomplish if he set his mind to it. As a boy, he was taught by his father to work and to do a job well. His incredible sense of ingenuity and perseverance served him well as he tackled many a difficult task to see it through to a successful end. From working as a grocery bagger, to eventually owning his own construction company, Jack was always willing to do whatever it took to provide for his family. Life after dissolving his construction company and leaving his farm, included maintenance work for the local school district and then after “retirement”, doing welding work and other odd jobs for Basin Industries. His work was his play, his passion and his fun, but his love was his family, the Savior and the gospel.
Jack served as a Bishop, Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader and countless other counseling and assisting positions. He loved his assignment as a home teacher/ministering brother and worked diligently to visit his assigned families at least monthly. He and his sweetheart served a work mission in Alberta Canada remodeling homes for the ranch hands who worked the 5000 head, church owned cattle ranch. His greatest calling and commitment were working in the temple where he vigilantly chose to serve daily. The temple became his sanctuary as he tirelessly and lovingly cared for his sweetheart and eternal companion, Reita, during her battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Again, calling on his ingenuity and perseverance, he was able to both care for her needs and still make sure his daily temple commitment was accomplished.
Alongside his beloved Reita, he raised and loved 6 beautiful children and instilled in each of them the same work ethic and commitment that served him so well. Quickly his family grew to include in-law children, 22 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 1 more soon to come as his incredible posterity continues to grow.
He is survived by sons Lorn (Cindy), Scott (Carrie), Kyle (Bobbie) and daughter JaRee (Doug) McConkie, all of his grandchildren, and great grandchildren along with one sister, Shirley (Carl) Oldaker, and countless nieces, nephews and friends whom he counts as family.
He is preceded in death and finally reunited with his beloved wife of 69 years Reita, son Cal (LaDawn) Ruppe, Daughter Tralynne (Daniel) Migliori and Daughter-in-Law Rhonda Ruppe, parents C.P. “Mike” and Reva Ruppe and William and Larue Winder, brothers and sisters, Larry Ruppe, Clyde and his wife Alice Ruppe, Janet and her husband Alan Clark, and Gladys and her husband Fran Peterson.
