James Larry Capps, age 69, passed away at his home in Manila on January 15, 2014. He was born October 22, 1944 to Archi and Ocie Taylor Capps in Dallas, TX. He worked for many companies driving truck, mainly long haul trucking. Larry served times in the Korean War and in the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life Karlene Measom on September 17, 1983 in Springville, Utah. Larry loved the outdoors such as hunting, camping, fishing on the Gorge, and helping out with building repairs. He claimed to be a "Jack of all trades and a Master of none" He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, father-in-law, Karl Measom; Lonnie Groo; and his pet "Baby" He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karlene; children, Jana Lee (Todd) Corbett; Wayne (Michelle) Groo of Vernal; Linda (Greg) Scott of Manila; Dedra (Will) Wiley; Misty (Mark) Ford; Dusty (Bonnie) Capps; 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Ray, Richard and Tom Capps and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Manila LDS Chapel. Services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary
