On September 5th 2023 Joan Gilroy was finally reunited with her beloved husband of 60 years. She spent the past 11 years writing him love letters and looking forward to seeing him again.
Joan was born on April 26th, 1932 to Jess and Kathryn Brown in Springville Utah. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1950. She married Lloyd “Bud” Gilroy on February 27th, 1951 and they had three children Michael Dwaine, Greg Lynn (Jolynn), and Toby Lee (Misty)
Joan retired from Chevron and was bored in retirement so she returned to the workforce as a Librarian at the Uintah County Library. In 2019 she retired (for real this time) and spent her days gardening, attending grandchildren's sporting events, having tea parties and being the best “Meemaw” possible.
She was preceded in death by Jess Brown, Kathryn Fulmer Brown, Lloyd “Bud” Gilroy, and Michael Dwaine Gilroy. She is survived by two children; Greg (Jolynn), and Toby (Misty), five grandchildren; Jennifer (Staci), Wesley (Stephanie), Marinda (Danielle), Jordan (Teisha), and Jaden (Kayla), twelve great grandchildren; Mathew, Emily, Tyler (Alora), Konnor, Charlie, Sawyer, Sloane, Johnny, Drex, Ryker, Rogyn, and Rhyla and one great-great grandchild; Amelia.
