JoAnne Caldwell

JoAnne Hatch Caldwell 87 years old, passed away peacefully August 23, 2023 with her family by her side.

She was born in Vernal, Utah November 17^th, 1935 to Golden and Fadalice Hatch. JoAnne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother She was the 5^th of 7 kids. She was raised on Willow Creek and went to school in Vernal, Utah and she was a Cheerleader in high school. She loved golf, she played golf with her kids, grandkids, friends and her husband Mick. They loved horse races. They had a winning horse whose name was (Mick’s Payday). JoAnne loved to paint pictures, growing a garden and planting flowers. She was a beautiful seamstress. She would sew beautiful wedding dresses and beautiful prom dresses to make extra money. JoAnne owned and operated the Style Shoppe in Vernal and then changed it into a fabric store and called it JoAnnes House Of Fabrics. Mick and JoAnne enjoyed vacations going around the country and golfing at different golf courses. They loved buying older homes and remodeling them and selling them. They moved many, many times.

Mick and JoAnne got married in Vernal, Utah August 9, 1953. They were married 60 years when Mick passed away September 2013.

JoAnne is preceded in death by her husband, Mick Caldwell, one sister, Vera Kempton, 2 brothers; Bob Hatch, Donald “Shorty” Hatch, and a son-in-law, Rocky Mecham.

She has 4 children (Bob Caldwell (Claudine) Vernal, Utah, Kim Mecham, Mt. Home Utah, Kelly Shelton (Mike) Evanston Wyo, Luke Caldwell (Kelsea), West Haven, Utah. 19 Grandkids, 41 Great Grandkids, 1 Great Great Grandchild on the way.

The family would like to thank Peachtree Assistant Living in West Haven, Utah and Aplus Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11 am with a viewing 1 hour prior to service all at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
