Our Dad, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 81, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in North Dakota January 18, 1931. At age 16 he joined the U.S. Army. He went to work on drilling rigs and later his own ho-shot business, retiring at age 71. Johns greatest accomplishment in life was his family. John is survived by his six daughters; Judy, Susie, Kathy, Robyn (Steve), Patty (Chad), and Tammy (Jeff), grandchildren; Nikki, Mike (Molly), Mindi (Clayton), Joe (Lindy), Kati (Loyd), Johnnie (Kai), James and Trey, great grandchildren; Felicia, Lexi, Gabi, Tali, Zay, Portia, Jackson, Jett, Temperance, Dayton, Amelia, Carter, Jordan, and four yet to be born, sisters; Lenny and Holly, nieces, nephews, and a special friend and buddy; Shane. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart; Madge, parents; John and Martha, brothers; Tom and Dave, sisters; Delane, Lila, and Inez, four nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackburn Mortuary. Viewings will be Monday evening from 6-8 and 1 hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with military honors from the American Legion Post 124 and 11 and the Utah Army National Guard. Services were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
