Joy Rose Yancy, age 72, formally of Flagstaff, Arizona passed away from Cancer at her daughters home in Vernal, Utah on July 15, 2013. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on January 20, 1942 to Walter and Eva Raulinitus Mitchell. Joy worked as a real estate agent and broker for 30 plus years, and worked for Coldwell Banker. She also dedicated much of her time to charity work. She received many awards in the real estate profession and was an Assistance League volunteer. Joy loved her family dearly and was a loving mom, mother-in-law and grandma. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, loved to crochet, and spending time with her bunny Scooter. She is survived by her daughter; Kim (Tom) LaCoss of Vernal, granddaughter; Kendra LaCoss, great-grandson; Dayson Janes, sisters; Barbara Heybaer, Gloria Rissi, and Linda Noorman. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers; Larry Mitchell and Val Mitchell. There will be a memorial service for Joy at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
