Obituary for Judy RaNae Hatch Hutchings
Judy RaNae Hatch Hutchings was born December 29, 1949 in Ogden, Utah and died of metastatic breast cancer on October 31, 2017 at her home in Provo surrounded by her loving family. She was adopted at 18 months by Bill and Clela Chivers Hatch of Heber. Judy grew up in Heber until 1964 when the family moved to Provo.
She graduated from Provo High School in 1968 and went on to get her LPN at the Trade Tech in Provo. She used this education to comfort family, friends and strangers her entire life. She was a faithful member and served in many callings in the LDS Church.
Judy and Craig L. Hutchings were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 30, 1973. They then moved to Vernal and lived there for several years.
Judy worked as a nurse at facilities in the Vernal area and in Utah County. She later worked as a nurse and education aide in elementary schools in Provo. Judy and Craig took in foster children and that’s how they met their daughter Nickie LuElla in 1976.
Judy loved all outdoor activities with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her three grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Craig Hutchings; her daughter Nickie Kurip; her grandchildren Bridger, Maliya and Rain Kurip and unborn great-grandson Rafael Kurip Coronel, all of Provo; siblings Brad Hatch (Cindy) of Spanish Fork, Mardy Hatch of Vernal and Marquita Hatch also of Vernal, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clela Chivers Hatch Pope and Bill Hatch, her stepfather Ivan Pope and many beloved aunts, uncles and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 11. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 9 - 10:50 a.m. at the Grandview 18th Ward LDS Church, 1260 W. 1150 North in Provo. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something special with your family or for the Lifting Hearts Breast Cancer Support Group.
Her ashes will be laid to rest in Dry Fork Cemetery in Vernal at a later date.
