Keith Lloyd Goodrich was born September 10, 1947, in Vernal Utah. He died December 11, 2024, in Vernal Utah, with family close by.
Keith was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea from 1966 to 1969. After he returned home, he met Allyn Stephens and they were married two weeks later. Many people said it wouldn’t last, but over the years they proved everyone wrong and were married for 54 years before he passed away.
Keith worked for the Gilsonite mine for a short time then made the move to R. W. Jones Trucking Company. He worked there until he retired, totaling 37 years. Keith was an integral part of the business, working as office manager and accountant. He had an amazing ability to remember almost any number, including truck license plate and VIN numbers, social security numbers and birthdays for all the guys, and any other number relevant to his job. Bob Jones, and later Wayne Jones, were an important part of Keith’s career.
Besides Allyn, Keith had three loves in his life: Bowling, grandkids and great grandkids, and his dogs — not necessarily in that order. He was an accomplished bowler, at one time scoring a perfect 300 and coming close a few other times.
Keith’s grandkids were so important to him. They made many memories together that included trips to Oregon and Washington, hunting in the Bookcliffs, four-wheeler rides, Fourth of July fireworks, and spending countless hours at family dinners and just hanging out together.
Keith is survived by his wife, Allyn, who he was married to for 54 years. He is also survived by daughter Chalynn Thomas (Troy), son Brian Goodrich (LaRissa), daughter Tracie Williams (Brann Mooney), six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Gladys Goodrich, mother-in-law Dora Beaman, father-in-law Orman Stephens, and sister-in-law Toni Kay Stephens.
Keith was a generous man and would do anything for his family and friends. His passing will leave a hole in our hearts because, really, how do you go on when your hero isn’t there to hold you up any more?
